To the LGBT community,

Please be advised that images of genocide and ethnic cleansing of the lesbian and bisexual women's population have been declassified by United States Attorney General, the Honorable Ms. Loretta Lynch.

The images declassified feature forensic evidence pertaining to lesbian genocide committed by the Central Intelligence Agency or CIA of The United States. These specific homicides occurred between 1990 - 2015, however the policy of ethnic cleaning by the CIA targeting lesbians in fact dates back to the 1940s and World War II.

A list of convicted death row perpetrators is included in the posted community notice, as well. See link below.

quick thoughts on trance
I have been thinking about the objectification of women in the trace/house/party/rave scene a lot and don't have many trace loving sisters in my life to dialogue with.

While I am a big supporter of womyns music such as folk, I am a long timer lover of trance and I've always wondered if any michigan folks are interested in speaking more about the patriarchal world of trance and house music.

It's interesting to see how the scene is a perfect example of the capitalist patriarchy. Women are not only sexually objectified, but the are totally disregarded for their talents as singers by not being recognized in songs when their voices are sampled, and when they have a difficult time learning how to spin and becoming resident djs at parties.

If you too are interested in this topic, post a comment and maybe it'll motivate me to start a feminist trance lovers community. I think this work is so important, and it's only starting to be picked up in the academy. I know of one professor that is planning on doing work with female djs but I haven't heard of much else. Have you?

Research: Feminism, Women's Spaces and Transwomen
This is my first post to this community, so I thought I should introduce myself. My name is Morgan. I am 28. I live in DC along with my lovely, girlfriend. I went to Michfest for the first time this past summer. It was her seventh time. We camped with a big group of her friends and their lovers and friends.

I remember walking onto the large field in front of the main concert stage on opening night and being very moved by the sea of women, mostly lesbians. It was very powerful for me.

I am posting today because a friend of mine (lilsharong) is writing a paper focusing on feminism, women's spaces and transwomen. I know that we each have our own opinions about all of these topics, so please feel free to ignore this post. But if any of you are willing to answer any of her research questions, I know she would greatly appreciate it. Thank you in advance.
